February Favourites | 2015

Skin Care:

Nspa Skincare Box Set

-Moisturizer
-Serum
-Hot Cloth Cleanser
-Gel Cleanser

I'm sure you've all seen these on my blog before when I did my favourite skin care but I have been loving them a lot recently :)

Beauty:

Soap & Glory Lipgloss

This came in a soap & glory box set for xmas which I have been using with a lip liner brush because I think the colour can look a little too intense when applied fully, but using a lip liner brush makes it look a lot nicer (and stay on longer too).

No7 Eyeshadow

This also came in a box set for xmas by no7 and I really like this colour eyeshadow :)

Burts Bees Lip Balm

I'm am a big fan of lip balms so any I see I will want to buy & try. This also gives a teeny bit of red colour.

Non Beauty Faves:

TV:

-I survived a zombie apocalypse (who else watches this?)
-The Walking Dead
-Broadchurch

Music:

Chocolate - 1975 (I know it's old but I like it :D)

Review: - Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen Kit

Heyy :)

I bought this set for my birthday as I wanted to try these for a long time and I saw they were selling a pack of 5 slightly miniature pencils for only £15 or so and I ordered them from beautybay, plus you get to try a bit of both as I didn't want to just buy 1 and end up not liking it.

And since my birthday was all the way back in november, i've had them for sometime now and can give you my real thoughts on them.

First off I love the packaging of this, Pixi is known for it's cuteness and lime green packaging :)

Info On Packaging

-Award Winning
-Best Sellers
-Waterproof
-Intense Colour
-Silky Smooth
-Hypoallergenic
-The kit is sold with it's best selling eye pencils

I have to agree with all of the above especially 'intense colour' and 'silky smooth'. You have to simply glide these gently over your lash line and the pigmentation is amazing (there's nothing worse than an eyeliner that tugs on your skin ugh). They are also really blend-able, but they do set really fast..

They are defiantly waterproof as they are a bit of a pain to remove, so make sure you have some waterproof eye make up remover at the ready ;)

The only thing that is annoying about these is that because they are so creamy they run out so quickly and i'm finding myself sharpening these regularly :(

The set comes with:

-Black Cocoa (Matte)
-Black Noir (Matte)
-Oyster Glow (Shimmer)
-Deep Plum (Hint Of Glitter)
-Sage Gold (Glittery)

-  & Sharpener

My Personal Faves Are:

-Oyster Glow
- Black Cocoa

P.S -Because I bought this set a while ago and they were limited edition and they don't sell them in a pack anymore, but you can obviously still purchase the originals (in normal size too).

How to: Messy Bun

Since my last hair post went so well and is now my most popular post ever, I thought I would share another one with you.

I'm finally sharing a 'how to' post on messy buns woo! :)

I uploaded a blog post quiet a while ago now of a picture of my messy bun and got requests and comments like 'How did you do that', 'How did you get you're hair to look/stay like that'.

And also 'I'd like to see a more detailed post on what exactly it is you do'

And in all honesty when I say messy, quick and easy I really do mean it.
I wear this hairstyle pretty much everyday because it takes literally no time at all and looks like you've spent more time and effort than you really have ;)

The first thing you want to do is start off putting your hair into a simple pony tail, my hair was already fairly curly so it gave it a lot more volume and texture.

Then take another bobble and pull your hair through it like normal but only half way, then (this is the tricky bit) twist your bobble with your hands and grab the rest of your hair and pull it through and it should look like a really messy bun at this point.

(something like this)

Then finally take a few hair clips or bobby pins (whatever it is you call them) and this is where you decide how neat or messy you want it to look. Place the pins into the back and front to secure it and then pull stands of hair out a tiny bit just to make it look a bit more messy and your pretty much done. If you did want to add hairspray then do as it lasts longer with it especially if your hair isn't the thickest and is prone to falling out of whatever hairstyle you try and do with it haha :)

Also if you leave your bun in all day/night and take it out in the morning you will get natural curly waves which isn't damaging to your hair as it's not any direct heat or added chemicals.

You should get something like this, sorry the picture is kinda blurry though :/

My Favourite Skin Care | Review

Displaying image1.jpeg
(this is what the box set comes with, it also comes with a muslin cloth)

I recently changed my skin care routine and have noticed a lot of difference so I thought I would tell you what i've been using on my skin. I found out about this brand when I was in asda, yes asda and I saw a box full with nspa products for only £10! I had already been eyeing up the brand before and was looking at getting one of the bigger tubes, but because they sold them a tiny bit smaller and in a four pack it was easier to then decide if I liked them or not and got to try a bit of everything. Also they are all numbered thus making it easier to know what to apply first :)

The first one is the cleansing gel, which you apply first. It feels really soft on the skin and isn't too hard to remove either. I really really like this and also if you're feeling a bit lazy on some days you could skip a few steps and just use this.

This is the hot cloth cleanser (which originally comes with the muslin cloth) which i've been really loving it does a good job at removing your make up and I like removing this with either the muslin cloth or a simple flannel. I've noticed a huge difference in my skin since using this.

Next the radiant serum, now i'd never tried a serum before so I was excited to see what all the fuss was about.
I can positively say I now love using serums before my moisturizer, I think it makes your skin look so much more awake than normal and glowy (not oily or sweaty). LOVE IT!

And finally last but not least the brightening day cream, this includes spf15 so a bonus for the summer months.
This goes perfectly with the serum and moisturizes your skin really well and I would say i've got sort of dry skin but not major, however if I have a few dry patches this will get rid of them in only a few hours (depending on how dry my skin was that day)

I honestly have nothing bad to say about this skin care range, and everything i've tried i've been more than pleased with.
I'd never heard of this brand before like I said earlier,
but if you do use this skincare range do let me know what you think of it in the comments :)

Tips For Growing Long & Healthy Hair

As promised I'm writing this post for all of you who are interested in how I grow my hair :)
In the early months of last year I really wanted to grow my hair longer so I looked it up, tried some tips out and carried on with it

Styling:

If you want to grow your hair limit the amount of times you use heat on your hair. I went through a phase when I was 12/13 and I used heat on my hair pretty much everyday even though it wasn't necessary to, I'd straighten it, curl it and do all sorts and I didn't even use a heat defence spray! What an idiot. Obviously I didn't realize the damage I was doing to my hair at the time so I was just confused at why my hair always looked so dry and had so many split ends. If you do use heat on your hair regularly make sure that you use a decent heat defence spray, I cannot recommend those enough.

Washing your hair:

Obviously we all wash our hair, but there were a few things I did which did help

- Wash your hair leaning over the bath so your heads upside down (optional but would recommend to)
- Use cold water to rinse out your hair, cold water is better than warm, it might   feel a bit weird at first but you will notice the difference eventually :)

Deep conditioning:

I like to coat my hair in conditioner and tie my hair up in a bun leaving the conditioner in for about 5-10 mins then rinse out with cold water, it makes your hair look and feel so much softer than usual. You don't have to deep condition your hair every time you wash it maybe just 1 or 2 times a week :)

Products:

- Tresemme Shampoo & Conditioner (preferably the repair set if your hair is    already in bad condition)

- Argon oil/Moroccan oil

- Lee Stafford Hair Treatments

Drying your hair:

If your like me and leave your hair to dry naturally then this won't apply to you, but if you like to use a hair dryer please do use heat spray or just limit the amount you do this because this can also do harm to your hair.

Also I know the first thing you want to do after washing your hair is to brush it, well it can create more split ends in your hair when wet if you yank a comb through it noottt good, so maybe just run your fingers through your hair if you can't resist -wide tooth combs are good too :)

Hair styles:

Even the most common hair styles can cause breakage to our hair, even when we put it up in a hair bobble (hair tie for the americans) to make a pony tail.  If the bobble is too tight it can break the strands of hair and also the front parts of your head can be pulled too tight without you realizing leading to damaging the roots of your hair :(

Your probably wondering what hairstyles do I do now then if I can't use heat on my hair or tie it up? Well you can do those things but not too intensely, especially if you want to grow your hair.

- Plaiting your hair at night can be a nice way of curling your hair naturally without direct heat, or even twisting your hair into 1 or 2 buns either side.

- The headband method is great for people with short and long hair

- Using salt spray is a great way to get curly hair which looks so pretty and it       doesn't damage your hair (but make sure you don't use this all the            time because it can be a little drying, but no way near as bad as    using straighteners or curlers)

It's hard to get in the routine of not using heat on your hair but you will get used to it and hope fully you will notice your hair starting to grow a lot quicker and look healthier than before..

 Drink plenty of water:

I have an app which reminds you to drink water through out the day (odd I know). But it worked and not only is it good for your hair but good for your health :)

Pheww that took a while :)
Do let me know if you try any of these tips and if they helped you. Remember these are only the things I did and worked for me.

Share your hair growth tips in the comments too :)

Hair History.

Because a lot of you were interested in my hair I thought it would be a good idea to show you pictures of me growing up so you can see how my hair looked back then :)

I was not very old here but I did have a lot of hair on my head as a baby and my mum used to put it in a little bobble so I did look a little like baby pebbles from the flintstones :)

This one made me laugh because I still like to wear bows in my hair today haha.

I think I was 2 in this photo and my hair was getting a lot longer already...

This was on my 4th birthday and I had medium long hair, I don't think I was really bothered too much about what it looked like at that age though. But my hair did grow really quickly :)

I was 11 here and I remember getting a hair cut and I hated it, I thought it was way too short and I had a little side fridge that never looked right haha and I used to wear head bands constantly for some reason, looking back now I don't know why I did haha I must have liked them at the time? :/

This was when I got my first ever curler and had tried my best shall I say, this was taken on my 13th birthday :) I also only wore mascara back then :/ ...

And now...In the early months of last year I decided I wanted my hair longer so I did everything I possibly could to make it grow faster and I think It has grown so much in a year it's unbelievable.

I will be uploading a post on what products I use on my hair and tips on how to make it grow faster very soon ;)

My Favourite Blushers

Makeup 'Triple Baked Blusher ~ Candy Queen Of Hearts'

I picked this blusher up not too long ago when I was in superdrug and I had spotted it in there before and wanted to pick it up...so I did :) It's a baked blusher which means it has a sort of domed effect to it. Pigmentation wise it's amazing and looks so nice on your skin as it gives you a pearlescent glow (which sounds really posh) that looks sooo nice :) This is the secret to healthy looking skin and it's only £4.99

Sleek Blusher 'Rose Gold'

Next up is this blusher from sleek another favourite of mine. I was given this for Christmas by my sister who knew I liked this anyway and I think this will be one of my favourties for a long time. It has tiny little specs of gold glitter which doesn't show up too much on your skin but again like the others gives you a fresh glow and also makes you look more awake (wishing I could insert a thumbs up emoji). This was also around the 4-5 pound mark :)

Makeup Revolution Blush Palette 'Hot Spice'

I honestly think that makeup revolution have been doing so well recently so I had to have a look at some of their products while I was in superdrug. As always the stand was super busy so I had to wait a while but it is a popular stand at the mo so I can't complain. This palette can you believe is only an incredible £6! I can't believe how inexpensive this is and for such a good palette. The pigmentation with these blushes is great quality for such a cheap product and they are all such pretty colours and very wearable too. They also sell other blusher palettes and single baked blushes for only £2.50 I believe.

I'm sorry if you now want to go shopping and spend all of your xmas money haha :)

Favourites | 2014

Happy New Year!

Now I was going to do my usual monthly favourites for you but as it's now 2015 and a new year I thought it would be a good idea to do a post on my favourites of 2014 and share them with you :)

If you are disappointed for some reason that i'm not doing my usual monthly faves I will be continuing to do that throughout the year so don't worry

Lipsticks & Glosses:

Left-Right: Rimmel Kate Moss - 05
Zoeva Lip Crayon - Tender Rose
Natural Collection - Fondant

I can definitely say I have a fair few lipsticks but these three I have decided to be my faves for this year I love and wear them all equally

Eyeshadow / Palettes:

Naked 2
Elf Beauty Book Eyeshadow Palette

Obviously you have all heard of the naked palettes and I can agree with you all that they are absolutely amazing quality as well as this elf palette which I was surprised by as I found it in Tkmaxx which I think is a UK store i'm not 100% sure, correct me if i'm wrong haha but this was no more than £4 can you believe?

Hair Spray & Dry Shampoo:

Loreal Volume Texturising Spray
Batiste Dry Shampoo - Floral Blush

The loreal texturising spray gives lots of volume and is good at holding a certain hairstyle without the feeling of crispy hair which is never good and doesn't feel nice in your hair at all which I think you can all agree with me on. I actually have repurchased this again when I ran out of my old one so it just goes to show haha :)

Batiste is the first dry shampoo I've ever tried and I can honestly say it does do everything it claims to on the bottle, it gives your hair a clean and fresh feeling once you've sprayed this into your hair also adding volume around the roots, perfect for those running late days or when you've woken up late for school aha, anyone know of any other good dry shampoo's?

Mascaras:

Rimmel Accelerator Endless
Rimmel Extra WOW Lash

Both of these mascaras will forever be my favourites, the accelerator (green one) adds length to your eyelashes without making them look like spider legs if you know what I mean.

The wow lash also adds length but focuses more on the volume on the lashes i'd say this one is best on the top lashes.

 Nail Polish:

Essie - Fishnet Stockings
Barry m- Prickly Pear, Dragon & Greenberry

Blusher:

Sleek - Rose Gold

I've only recently got this blusher and I love it already, it has tiny gold specs of glitter but not too noticeable on your cheeks :)

Brushes:

Real Techniques - Expert Face Brush + Blush Brush

Lip Balms:

Baby Lips
Born Lippy - Watermelon

These are two of my favourite lip balms ever, I got addicted to baby lips last year when I tried 'hydrate' (the blue colored one) and have bought them ever since.
The born lippy's are also my favourites, they give a little colour pay off but not too much and they last a really long time, I think i've had mine over six months now and i've got a lot left even though I do use it quite a lot.

Films:

-The Fault In Our Stars
-Hunger Games Mocking jay Part 1
- The Perks Of Being A Wallflower(old but recently bought it and loved it)

Tv:

-Walking Dead Season 5
- I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here
-Gogglebox

Music:

Rather Be & Real Love - Clean Bandit & Jess Glynne
Ghost - Ella Henderson
Shake It Off & Blank Space - Taylor Swift
Wasted - Tiesto ft Matthew Koma
The Man - Aloe Blacc
Gecko Overdrive - Oliver Heldens & Becky Hill
Human - Christina Perri

Albums:

The Vamps
Taylor Swift - 1989

What have you loved all year round?
