Clothing Wishlist

Hey :) So autumn is almost here and I'm so happy and excited for it. This means I've been looking for winter clothes online because I have literally no clothes for winter right now :( So I've found a few things I like the look of and thought I would show you what I have found.

Ahh Love em! I actually found these first on ASOS, but they are actually from new look. I love these so much and think they would look so nice in winter. I did already buy some similar boots the other day so I'm not sure I'll be buying these as well but I can just pretend. Also they are quite expensive so...probably best I don't get them haha ;)

I found this dress that I really liked and it's only £15. Not too wintery, but I can just picture this wearing tights and little heeled ankle boots when it's cold :) And also Boohoo have such amazing prices for everything!

Also from Boohoo I came across these when I was looking in the 'jumper' section and I spotted these two. I don't know which one I like better but I'm kind of heading towards the grey one because it will go with mostly everything. Let me know which one you like best?

I love things like this that you can just throw over an outfit on really cold days. Some may think they look a bit 'grandad jumpery' but I like them :) There also really warm and soft, can't go wrong with one of these and even if I don't buy myself this one, another just like it will end up in my wardrobe at some point ;)

Now I know not everyone will like these but I think their so cute and different. I saw the baby pink one in Outfit the other day and thought it looked so pretty..i really want it (can you tell). But I think these are so versatile, you can wear them with skirts and heels or jeans and boots and they just look so nice and 'posh' I guess..I don't know haha, I just really really like the look of these :D

And what would an autumn clothing post be without a coat? I've never had a duffle cote before but when I was scrolling through ASOS I thought it looked so cute and could imagine myself both wearing and loving this :) It's quite pricey so if I want one I'll have to go looking for one similar, but i've seen a lot of these around recently.

So this was a new sort of post for me so let me know if you liked it and I'll maybe do one just focused on beauty or hair?

August Favourites | 2015

Hey, so I haven't done a favourites in a long time. I think maybe march/april was the last time I did one. The reason for that is because I'm someone who always sticks to the same things until they run out or I get bored of them ect. But today I have a few things I want to show you :)

Lush Lip Scrub 'Popcorn'

The first thing is this Lush Lip Scrub. I absolutely love these and think they work really well. They're around £5 which to some people can seem like a lot for just 'a pot of sugar' but I don't mind paying as they last a really long time and I know that they work on me. I bought mine in 'Popcorn' and i'm not joking when I say this but it literally tastes like popcorn from the cinema, it's amazing and i'm obsessed. I remember buying one of these last year and it was a lifesaver for my lips in the winter so i'm hoping this one will do the same for me this year too.

Rimmel Wonder'full Mascara

I bought this mascara just before my holiday and have been using it ever since. I like the way it makes my lashes look and how non-clumpy they are once I've applied it. It also says it includes argon oil to make your lashes feel 'lightweight and soft' and I can agree, it almost feels as if you have nothing at all on your lashes throughout the day and the mascara lasts so long that I sometimes struggle to take it off haha. But I can't fault it and I really really like it :)

Favourite place to shop:
- Boohoo.com

Films I watched & enjoyed through August:
- Spy
- Jurassic World
- Where the heart is (so old but only just seen it)

TV:
- Pramface
- Pretty Little Liars (No Spoilers Please!)

Music:
- Rachel Platten - Fight Song (constantly on repeat)
- Demi Lovato - Cool For The Summer
- Ed Sheeran - Photograph (Felix Jaehn Remix)
- Jess Glynne - Don't Be So Hard On Yourself

Vidal Sassoon Easy Wrap Curling Wand | Review

Hey, today i'm going to share with you my thoughts on this new 'Vidal Sassoon Easy Wrap Curling Wand' I've been using lately.

The wand itself has a 'non slip' texture to the barrel which does work I have to admit. It helps to hold the curl onto the wand when styling because I'm sure you all have the trouble of your hair falling half way down the wand before the heat has even reached the strand of hair you want to curl. But because of this when you release your hair from the wand it creates slightly messier strands of hair towards the top of your head. So this wand doesn't make your hair smooth and sleek but if you like messy curly hair then you will love it.

This is how it looks on my hair:

Kind of messy fishtail/beachy hair which I love.

The only thing I have to say is that as the day goes on the curls kind of go a little frizzy/messier and I'm not a fan. Don't get me wrong some people might like it and I do like messy curly hair myself, just not that type of messiness. So if you love wavy messy beach hair then this curler is for you :)

I also tested this out on my sister as she has fine hair so she finds it very difficult to hold a curl in place.

She loved how it looked and it was on freshly washed hair too. The curls lasted pretty much all day and if you want to you can brush the curls out and they still look really nice. Adding bits of hairspray in places also helps to maintain the curls throughout the day.

Things I like:

-Doesn't take long to curl your hair (10-15 mins)
-Holds your hair all the way along the wand
-Curls last a long time
-Works on both fine & thick hair

Things I don't like:

-There's only one heat setting (can't change heat of wand)
-Makes your hair frizz at the top of your head

I think personally this curling wand works best on fine hair as my sisters hair did not go frizzy/messy, it just looked shiny. Not to say people with my hair type wouldn't like this and it may be just a trial and error thing for me but for now I still think it works a lot better on fine hair. However putting my hair into a messy bun after using this looks really nice and big so it's not all bad.

So for my viewers who have blonde, fine, thin hair and are looking for a good curler then you should give this a try as I think you will love it and it is perfect curler for your hair type. So don't get me wrong and think this is a bad product because it isn't and it works perfectly fine. I'm going to carry on giving this a go so I will update you if I find a better way of using it on my hair.

Let me know what you think and if anyone has ever had my problem before & how to sort it out.

3 Cute Curly Hairstyles For Summer

I'm back with another hair post :)
I know I do these often but these are the posts I really enjoy making so i'm going to continue to do them.

I wanted to do this so those of you who like to curl your hair or already have naturally curly hair (in which case i'm very jealous of you) have a few ideas on what to do on 2nd & 3rd day hair. I normally like to curl my hair and wear it down as it is on day 1, then change it slightly the next day into maybe a bun or messy pony tail.

How I curl/style my hair.

Basically all I do is curl large chunks of my hair to start with and once I've curled all of it, I like to mess them up a bit and make them a little looser.
I also take some hair spray in the palm of my hand and push it into the roots of my hair to give it more volume. And now your good to go.

Messy Braids.

Pretty straight forward, I like to pull on the braid a little to make it look thicker. I always find they look the best when my hair has been curled as it has a lot more texture and holds a lot better. I also like to pull out sections at the front as you can see :)..

Messy Bun.

I'm sure most of you already know how I do this but if not I'll just quickly run it past you.

  • Put your hair into a high pony
  • Twist the pony round into a doughnut shape
  • Use pins to keep your bun in place
  • Mess it up as much as you want to and use some hairspray (optional)
Easyy ;)

If any of you have any hair style requests for me to do please do let me know and i'll be happy to have a go at it for you :)

Thanks for reading <3

Eleanor & Park | Book Review

Hey :)

I'm back. Sorry it's been a while I've recently just got back from my holiday which obviously meant the next few days were spent lazing around for no reason..but it does mean some random holiday pics are coming soon ;)

Okay back to the book.

I was recommended this book by a friend who loves reading and every time she recommends something she thinks I'll like I kind of think to myself 'okay it must be good then'. And I did need a new book to read on my holiday (turns out I read it before I went on holiday, it was too good to put down haha).

First thing, when I was looking on amazon to buy it I noticed how pretty the book cover was, I mean look at it. It looks so nice on my bedside table. I know this isn't always key information and the cover has no relevance to how good the story is but I thought I might as well just let you know that. (they also have different colored book covers, just letting you know).

I'll just give you some background information about the characters & story:

Eleanor is a 16 year old who keeps herself to herself, has a pretty bad school life but does her best to try and ignore the people that don't matter to her. She lives at home with her brothers & sisters, her mum and step dad Richie who she is not a fan of..

Park is also 16 years old. He's into magazines, music tapes and like Eleanor he is quiet. He lives with his mum & dad.

Eleanor & Park meet when Eleanor gets onto the school bus and has no seat, obviously there is a space next to Park so she has no other choice but to sit next to him. They start off in silence for a while but after some time they get to know each other slowly.

That's it i'm not spoiling anything for you, you have to go read it!

I really like the way this story was written as they give you both Eleanor & Parks point of view throughout every conversation they have. I honestly could not put it down and read it so quickly.

The only thing I didn't like about the book is how it ended. I can't tell you how or why it ended like that but I just didn't like it, but some of you might?? :(

Please go read this book it's honestly one of the best I've ever read.

You can buy it here: Eleanor & Park

If you've already read this please let me know about the ending and if you felt the same way?!?

10 Beauty & Life Tips For Summer!

Because the weather is so nice at the moment I thought it would only be right to do something along the lines of summer.

1. Swap styling tools with salt spray.

Because it's summer your hair will be exposed to a lot more heat than it would usually or any other time of the year, so for this reason I think it's important to kind of avoid using styling tools as much as possible as your hair can get very damaged .
Using salt spray can still give you that volume and 'messiness' you want in summer.

What I like to do is plat my hair in either a fishtail or regular braid the night before and when I wake up just add a little salt spray and it looks like this ^

2. Keep your makeup in the fridge.

It was actually my mum who first told me to do this. I'd never thought about it before but it seems only obvious that because of the heat some of your make up items (especially lippies) are prone to melting or looking a little disheveled after being sat in constant heat all day.

If you put them in the fridge it will also make them a lot nicer to apply as they will be cool mmm..

3. Wear a lighter foundation/base.

I think your best bet is to opt for something such as a BB cream, as it's a lot lighter than foundation and can look a lot nicer in natural light which is brill because i'm guessing a lot of you are going to be outside..yep?..
They also contain SPF which is an essential for your face during summer as well as the fact they act as a moisturizer. What's not to like about BB creams aye?

4. Get yourself a good face mask/cleanser.

I think making sure you have a nice cooling face mask to apply at the end of the day is such a nice thing to do for your skin in the summer. Make sure to keep your face masks in the fridge too, I promise your skin will thank you for it :)
My personal faves are from Sanctuary Spa & Lush which I've mentioned before.

5. Setting sprays, primers & powders.

Anything really that's going to stop your face from melting throughout the day will pretty much do..haha ;) and no one likes a sweaty face either. Glowy, but not sweaty.

#saynotosweatyfaces (lol)

6. Download spotify & make the best playlist ever!

If you haven't already downloaded Spotify firstly, why?! And secondly, where have you been? But honestly it's amazing and has every song on there you could ever ask for, from high school musical (yep) to Elvis Presley.
There's nothing better in my opinion than creating a playlist of all your favourite songs of right now :) So go do it..

Btw my fave songs right now are:

- Want to want me ~ Jason Derulo
- Lean On ~ Major Lazer
- Hey Mama ~ David Guetta
- Come and get it ~ John Newman (not released yet so sadly not on spotify)
- Shut up and dance ~ Walk The Moon

7. Ditch liquid liner.

I find it a lot easier to use a single brown eye shadow along the top lash line during summer as it looks a lot softer and more 'summer appropriate'. Not to say liquid liner looks awful, it doesn't, I just think it can smudge a lot easier in summer which is not the look anyone's going for.

8. Drink lots of water!
Keep hydrated peeps, your skin will thank you for it ;)

9. Dry shampoo is your best friend.

It's gonna happen. Your hair will get greasy in summer so do something about it and get yourself some dry shampoo! It's cheap, easy to use and does the job :)

10. Ice cubes are great for the skin.

Now I know me telling you to rub an ice cube all over your face sounds weird..I know..but it works. It can soothe spots, make under eye circles look nicer, cools you down & is nice and refreshing too. It sounds weird but trust me.

_______________

That's all for today..if you'd like me to do one of these again some time do let me know in the comments :)

I hope you find these in some way useful and that you are all enjoying the sunny weather recently.

*I also do apologies if it's not summer where you are and this post has no relevance to you what so ever :)*

Review: Too Faced Color Bomb

Hey,

I wanted to quickly review this as I picked it up a while ago now and hadn't got round to doing it yet.
I actually bought this from TKmaxx for £3 or so and because the original price is £20 (which I don't think I'd ever pay for a single lipstick) I thought it would have been stupid of me to have just left it there. So I picked it up :)

It's in the shade 'Bigger Berry'

At first I thought there might have been something wrong with it as it was only £3, but it was perfectly fine (thank god).

Pigmentation:

This is a moisturizing lip stick, so it's fairly sheer once applied but it is build able to a deep berry red.

Long Lasting?

Yes, again it is quiet long lasting as it acts as kind of a lip tint.

But..

One thing I really don't like about this lip product is that it kind of burns/stings your lips after a few seconds of application. Is this normal? Please let me know if you have this and yours is the same, if it is meant to happen I really don't see the need. Ugh. I know that it claims to be a lip plumper and that some people like the feeling of the stingy burns but it doesn't seem to make you lips look plumper at all :/

This did put me off a bit, but the colour is really nice so...I dunno

What do you think?

Shoe Zone Diamante Summer Sandals | Review

These may well be the prettiest pair of sandals I've ever owned.
I love that there's no strap between your toe, it's more comfortable without that in my opinion and these are so comfy!

These are a pretty colour and have diamante's all over them, what more could you want?

These sandals will also look super pretty on holidays worn both day & night time. I think you can pair lots of different clothes with these too which is always good.

What I would pair with these shoes:

Shorts - Primark
Lace Top - Select

You can buy these sandals from shoezone.com by clicking HERE:

I was very kindly sent these to review and display from the marketing team at shoezone, but all opinions are personally my own.

Curly Side Pony

Hey, sorry it's been a while..

Last week I got bored and was in the mood to do my hair so I came up with this and I really like it :)

I basically just put all of my hair to the side and curled it in a loose pony tail, pulled parts out and curled them too and your done..

I don't know about you but I really like it.

also wrapped a piece of hair around the bobble so you couldn't see it and I secured it with a pin.
